Salvia carduacea

This striking California wildflower has spiny leaves and frilly lavender flowers with orange anthers. Prefers full sun and well-drained soil. Likes dry conditions after it's established. It's hard to capture a photo that does it justice, so you'll have to take our word for it -- it is truly stunning and considered one of the prettiest salvias.
