This woodland beauty was recently
introduced from China.
It's a relative of the wild ginger, and, indeed,
saruma is
an anagram of
asarum.
Velvety, heart-shaped leaves are beautiful.
Small yellow flowers emerge from the leaf axils and bloom several months in the spring.
Grows to about 2 feet tall.
Long-lived and hardy to Zone 5.
Available Spring 2009 (we hope).
